- BIORHYTHMICATOR
- Version 1.00
- 9/11/90
-
-
- Dr. Bob's Biorhythmicator is a program designed for IBM PC's
- and compatibles which allows the user to look at his/her Biorhythm
- for any specified month and year. The charts drawn on the user's
- screen show the three standard biorhythm cycles including the 33
- day intellectual cycle, the 28 day emotional cycle, and the 23 day
- physical cycle. In addition to plotting the cycles, the software
- also labels critical days. Critical days are those days in which
- one or more of the biological cycles crosses the neutral line. At
- that time, one's system is said to be in a state of flux and it may
- be desirable to exhibit caution. The Biorhythmicator also includes
- a feature which allows the user to search for the next double or
- triple critical day, where 2 or 3 of the biological cycles cross
- the neutral line.
-
- It is up to the user to interpret the Biorhythm charts. Some
- people don't care if the biological curves are above or below the
- horizontal neutral line and look solely at the points where the
- curves cross the neutral axis (critical days). Others put the major
- emphasis on the fact that the curve is in the positive or negative
- region above or below the neutral line. The research done by the
- author of Dr. Bob's Biorhythmicator shows that the critical days are
- the most discussed. Nearly every famous person who died and got
- their biorhythm chart printed in a book, died on a double or triple
- critical day. But not to worry, I'm sure a lot of people die on
- good days, too.
-
- The software has a built in help screen which defines the
- following active keys on the keyboard:
-
- 'D' - search for next double critical day
- 'T' - search for next triple critical day
- 'H','F1','?' - displays the help screen
- 'R' - restart the Biorhythmicator
- 'X','Q','ESC' - exit to DOS
- right arrow - look at next month's biorhythm
- left arrow - look at last month's biorhythm
- down arrow - look at next year's biorhythm
- up arrow - look at last year's biorhythm
-
- In an effort to make Dr. Bob's Biorhythmicator available to as
- many people as possible, the following graphics modes are supported:
-
- VGA 640 x 480 16 color
- VGA 640 x 480 monochrome
- EGA 640 x 350 16 color
- EGAMONO 640 x 350 monochrome
- CGA 640 x 200 monochrome
- MCGA 640 x 480 monochrome
- AT&T 640 x 400 monochrome
- HERCULES 720 x 348 monochrome
- PC3270 720 x 350 monochrome
-
- To start the program, you just need to type 'bio' and the bio.exe
- program will be executed. The software will auto-detect the graphics
- card which is installed in your machine. If the detected graphics
- mode is not supported, the program will exit, and the usage screen
- will be displayed. It may be possible that the Biorhythmicator will
- still work even if a supported graphics card is not detected. It may
- also be possible that the graphics mode detected by the software isn't
- the best graphics mode available to you. A good example is the AT&T
- PC6300 which reports as a CGA card. By adding a command line argument
- along with the 'bio', you can force the Biorhythmicator to attempt to
- use a specific graphics mode. For instance, if you typed 'bio att'
- at the command line, you would execute the Biorhythmicator and tell
- it to use the AT&T 640 x 400 monochrome graphics mode. The following
- list describes the command line arguments associated with 'bio' and
- the corresponding graphics modes:
-
- 'vga' VGA 640 x 480 16 color
- 'mvga' VGA 640 x 480 monochrome
- 'ega' EGA 640 x 350 16 color
- 'egamono' EGAMONO 640 x 350 monochrome
- 'cga' CGA 640 x 200 monochrome
- 'mcga' MCGA 640 x 480 monochrome
- 'att' AT&T 640 x 400 monochrome
- 'herc' HERCULES 720 x 348 monochrome
- 'pc3270' PC3270 720 x 350 monochrome
-
- As another example, typing 'bio vga' would force the Biorhythmicator
- to attempt to use the VGA 640 x 480 16 color graphics mode.
-
- I'm presently adding some new features to the software including
- a screen dump utility which will allow the user to make hard copies of
- their biorhythm charts. I'm looking forward to receiving any comments
- or suggestions on how to improve The Biorhythmicator. If you'd like to
- send a contribution of $15 and register for the next release or simply
